A Peek Into Maddison’s Morning Routine: Setting the Tone for a Productive Day

6:00 AM: Wake-Up Call I’m an early riser, my alarm goes off at 6:00 AM, and I try my best to resist the temptation of hitting snooze. I’ve learned that getting up right away sets a productive tone for the rest of the day. There’s something about having that quiet time in the morning before the world wakes up that feels peaceful and empowering.

6:05 AM: Shower & Fresh Start After I get up, I head straight to the shower. There’s nothing like the feeling of warm water to wake me up and clear my mind. It’s one of those moments where I feel like I’m hitting the reset button for the day ahead.

6:15 AM: Feed Sophie My adorable dog, is always up with me early. The first thing I do when I’m out of the shower is make sure she’s fed. She’s always so excited to start the day, and I love the quiet, calm moments we share before things get busy.

6:20 AM: Drink AG1 & Make Coffee (Decaf, Always!) Next, I take my AG1, which helps me get the vitamins and nutrients I need to feel energized. While I sip on that, I brew myself a cup of decaf coffee. For me, it’s less about the caffeine and more about the comforting ritual of having a warm drink in my hands. Decaf keeps me grounded and prevents the jitters, so it’s perfect for my morning.

6:30 AM: Eye Patches & Morning Moments I love having a few quiet moments for myself before the day really kicks in. Sometimes, I’ll put on eye patches to refresh my skin while I listen to a podcast, enjoy a bit of silence, or dive into a good book. This little ritual helps me center myself and set a calm, intentional tone for the day ahead.

6:45 AM - 7:00 AM: Walk the Katy Trail Around 6:45 or 7:00, I lace up my sneakers and head out to the Katy Trail for my morning walk. This is one of my favorite parts of the routine. It’s a great way to get my body moving, clear my head, and enjoy some fresh air. I usually walk for about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the day. Sometimes I listen to a podcast, or if I’m feeling chatty, I’ll call my mom or a friend. It’s a perfect way to combine movement with connection.

8:00 AM: Breakfast By the time I’m back home from my walk, I’m ready for breakfast. I keep it simple, whether it’s a smoothie, a protein shake, or something quick on the go, I make sure it’s nourishing and energizing. I’ve learned that having something light and healthy in the morning helps fuel my body for the busy day ahead.

8:30 AM: Start Workday By 8:30, I’m sitting down and ready to dive into work. I check my emails and messages to see if anything urgent has come up, so I can prioritize my day. This moment of clarity before jumping into meetings or tackling tasks helps me stay focused.

Bonus: Pilates or Yoga If I have a bit of extra time in the morning, I’ll sneak in a short Pilates or yoga session. Even just 15-20 minutes of stretching or mindful movement helps me feel grounded and more energized for the day. It’s a small but impactful part of my routine.

Setting my day with intention has truly been a game-changer. I’ve found that having a quiet, purposeful morning helps me show up as my best self, whether it’s for my business or my family and friends. For me, that means sunlight, fresh air, and moments of peace. This routine has made me feel more productive, focused, and at ease with whatever the day brings.

A consistent morning routine provides more than just a productive start, it creates a sense of peace, reduces stress, and boosts overall well-being. Here’s why carving out time for a mindful morning routine is essential for your mental health.

Reduces Stress
A quiet, purposeful start to the day prevents the rush and anxiety that can often come with a chaotic morning. Whether it’s a walk or a moment of reflection, easing into the day allows you to breathe and mentally prepare for what’s ahead.

Boosts Mental Clarity
Taking time to clear your mind, whether through a podcast, a walk, or simply enjoying a warm drink, gives you focus and clarity. You’ll feel more grounded and ready to face the challenges of the day without feeling overwhelmed.

Promotes Self-Care
Small acts of self-care, like nourishing your body with vitamins, stretching through yoga, or practicing skincare, send a message to your mind and body that you matter. These rituals create a foundation for resilience and well-being.

Supports Healthy Habits
From hydrating to eating a nourishing breakfast or getting in a bit of movement, your morning routine sets the stage for healthy habits that contribute to long-term mental and physical wellness.

Cultivates Positive Energy
A peaceful morning cultivates a positive mindset. Whether it’s gratitude or excitement, starting your day with a calm and optimistic outlook helps maintain positive energy throughout the day.

Building a routine that includes time for reflection, self-care, and healthy habits can help you feel more productive, focused, and at ease. It's all about creating a space to prioritize your well-being before diving into the demands of the day.
